After receiving a lot of heat for not playing in the All-Star game, Derek Jeter has released a public statement as to the real reason why he didn't play in the All-Star game.
According to him, he was nursing his calf and wanted to rest it.
Probably should have said that in public before he took all that heat and had to have Commissioner Bud Selig defend him.
His reasoning looks a little sketchy, but at least he wasn't bailing on the Yankees.
